Education StyleMs. Favinger provides private lessons focusing on building technique, developing musicality, learning repertoire, and anything that inspires her students to love and perform the bass!
For upright bassists, she focuses on developing strong left hand technical skills through scales and etudes, predominantly based in the Rabbath method and right arm work through Hal Robinson's "Strokin'" method book. However, she also enjoys spending lesson time utilizing music that inspires her students, an opportunity given to her by former mentors and teachers. Ms. Favinger encourages healthy practicing and is dedicated to preventing injury in her students by educating them in mindful practicing techniques and stretching. |
Lesson OptionsLessons are available in 1 hour or 30 minute sessions and are available on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly schedule.
Lessons can be held at Ms. Favinger's studio or at the student's home as long as they have a bass available. A contract signed between teacher and student will be e-mailed in advance of the first lesson. |
